Meridian Blue rider Alyssa Polites made a huge impression in her first ride for the National Team at Tour Down Under in Adelaide last week. The first World Tour of the year saw Polites on a solo attack in stage one where she took QOM and sprint points slowing her to finish stage 1 in four different jerseys!
With the support of her team and a well timed push on the last climb in Stage 3 Alyssa won the Queen of the Mountain competition. this is a huge step forward for Alyssa as she settles in to a domestic season in the ProVelo Super League and launching a full on assault at WWT riding in the coming year.
Alyssa will ride Cadel’s Great Ocean Road Race before returning to team duties in the Lochard Energy Melbourne to Warnambool Classic, round two of ProVelo Super League.
