It is now eight weeks since the last race for Meridian Blue at the Tour of Thailand. In that time the team has spread around the globe – each rider following their path to personal improvement.
Alyssa – has travelled to live in Girona, race in Belgium and Japan and work towards some bigger goals during the year. Training is going well and it was great to see Alyssa take out some podiums at the recent international track meet in Belgium. Alyssa has doubled down on her university studies while travelling and we’re happy to report that she is fit, free from crashes and making great progress on and off the bike! Instagram
Mia – has started 1st year at University of Melbourne while she puts in a solid training block ahead of a relocation to Belgium in a couple of weeks. Mia will be racing with the WV Breda team in Holland, France, Belgium and beyond as she focuses on landing some results in Europe after a massive and a hugely successful Aussie summer for the 19 year-old. Lauren – has relocated to Andorra for a summer in the hills as she focuses on European racing and to make further gains. A massive win in the Queen Stage of the Tour of Tasmania and solid work in the Aussie summer at Tour Down Under has her eyeing off a role in the U23 Australian European program in August. Instagram
Jess – has been doing more adventures on the bike. Also in Andorra in late May, Jess represented Mata in the Small States of Europe games on a hill course in Andorra. It is another notch in the belt for Jess who keeps finding more and more opportunities to extend her competitive cycling career. Instagram
Kristy – has settled back in New Zealand focussing on the Cyclocross Nationals coming in the next month. Her training is going well and she still hopes to get to Europe for at least some club racing this coming summer. Instagram
Vegas – has been racing the Australian U19 Junior National Road Series, with round 1 in Brisbane and round 2 in Canberra over the past month. In a quality field it has been super exciting seeing Vegas taking on these races, animating the circuit races and, particularly in the Canberra RR, attacking the field. one more race in the series and then the focus is on year 11 studies! Cassia – has been jet-setting since her PSL debut with MBC in January. With her focus on the international Gravel racing series, Cassia has stood out for her aggressive racing and solid results at Vietnam, Australia and Spain. Instagram
Keely – is rounding out her studies and enjoying some local loops. Instagram
Rhylee – has based herself in Queensland’s Gold Coast for nicer weather and great training in the hinterlands. Our NZ U23 Champion has been nominated for the ITL Southland Sports Award and is focussing on her Law studies while building towards her goals. Instagram
Taryn and Kate are putting together a plan for PSL26 and the whole management team are focusing on building towards next summer. We also have some international collaborations in planning as we strive to build a pathway for women cyclists in the sport.
