In June 2024 e set out to create a new Elite Women’s Cycling team to context the 2025 ProVelo Super League and evolve from our U19 Academy. Now it is April 2025 and we have contested two National Championships, with five medals, six rounds of ProVelo Super League, four representations at World Tour level in the Australian National Team and one UCI2.2 race in Thailand.
The Management Team has worked hard to help this start up team emerge from the Australian sproting landscape as a distinctive, fresh and purposeful organisation. We have been proud to work with 10 amazing athletes who have prioritised their sporting ambitions and trusted Meridian Blue Cycling to help them develop as sportswomen. Our Directors of Sport have put in hours of preparation and provided significant guideance and insights for all of our riders, clear on the mission to help our athletes develop as people and improve in their sporting endeavours.
The belief of our sponsors is heartening. Women’s sport is a growth industry, and having the belief of people and organisations who believe in our mission trul motivates the management and riders alike:
- Pedla who have committed to helping us grow a community
- FE Sports who were quick to jump on the bandwagon with endeavour
- 99Bikes who have been there since the beginning
- Sul Nutrition who are emerging as a force in the industry – just like MBC
- Pinnacle Performance with Dylan and Jack whose sproting insights and tweaks make the difference between doing well and exceeding expectations
We now have the pleasure of watching our athletes disperse around the world to pursue theinext steps in their cycling careers, and we will keep you informed of their progress.
As for MBC, we have already started planning for PSL26 and beyond. We are excited by the opportunity to help more athletes, improve the Australian racing scene and participate at a level that our sponsors allow us to achieve.
